FAQ's

A CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) is a unique partnership between farmers and the community. Here’s how it works: before the growing season starts, farmers invite the community to buy a share of the harvest upfront, paying in a lump sum. This investment helps cover the early-season expenses like seeds, infrastructure, and soil amendments. Once the farming season is in full swing, CSA members receive a weekly box of fresh, high-quality produce. It’s a win-win relationship where both farmers and the community benefit.

The summer share runs from the fourth week of May to the fourth week of September. The Fall CSA begins in early October and ends in late November. Keep an eye out for Fall CSA share availability in late summer.

Your weekly CSA box is a delightful surprise, packed with what’s in season on our farm. Expect 7-9 different vegetables in a full-size share, suitable for you and your family. We aim for variety, covering your vegetable needs, from fresh snacks to salads and dinners. With over 70 kinds and 200 varieties of vegetables, you’ll enjoy a diverse selection.

If you cook occasionally and have a small household, the small share is ideal. For avid cooks with larger households, the full share is recommended. If you have specific veggie preferences or an unpredictable schedule, consider our Flex CSA Share.

CSA pickups happen every Wednesday from 4 – 7pm and on Saturdays from 10am – 2pm, starting in May and continuing through September. Pickups are at our farm in Albany, 18 Roberts Lane, Latham 12110

While we encourage timely pickups, we understand that life happens. If you can’t make it on your assigned day, you can pick up the following morning with prior notice. Please note that the share will remain the same as prepared for your original pickup day due to the packing process. If you can’t pick up at all, we’ll donate your share to the food pantry after one day.

While we’re not certified organic, we are committed to sustainable farming practices. We never use chemical pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, or non-food grade materials on our farm. Feel free to ask us more about our farming practices when you visit.

In the rare event of a complete or partial crop failure, we’ve got you covered. If all our crops are affected, we’ll source from other local farms to ensure you receive your weekly share. If only one crop fails, we’ll substitute it with another of similar value.

Absolutely! We want everyone to access good food. Apply for our Community Funded Farm Share to have part or all of your share cost covered. You can also opt for four installment payments if that’s more manageable for you.
